Elegant concrete roofing tiles are often mistaken for slate or clay
These durable, aesthetic tiles are available in diverse colors, textures and styles.
Those attractive tiles on rooftops are made of clay or slate, right? Maybe.
But stylized tiles are also manufactured from concrete. You've seen cement tiles without knowing it because they have an entirely organic vibe. In these images, our team installed Stoneworth Building Products' Oxford tiles (made locally in Bonner Springs, Kansas) on this 5,000-square-foot Miami County home. Concrete tiles are highly customizable in terms of surface and color. And they're natural and durable.
Concrete tiles are made from natural materials: sand, cement, water and iron oxide. In production, they are engineered to create a diverse colors and textures, ranging from traditional and vintage to modern. In addition to its aesthetic appeal, concrete tile is highly durable (hence the saying “set in concrete”). A bonus is that the raw materials used to create cement tiles makes them an eco-friendly choice. They’re a greener alternative to oil-based roofing products. These tiles’ durability also means they’ll last for decades and won’t end up in the landfill anytime soon.
