We know the drill. There’s been a storm and you find shingles in the yard. Or maybe there are no shingles, but you experienced hail. Perhaps a limb broke off a tree and bounced hard on your roof. An inspection is in order.

Now, it’s your roof, so you can do what you want. Yes, you can climb the ladder and survey the roof yourself. But that’s risky for some people, depending on the strength of your knees, the reliability of your ladder and the pitch of your roof.

In addition, you may not know exactly what you are looking for. Some significant roof damage can be subtle. Hail damage, for example, does not necessarily leave a gaping hole but can create conditions that will result in the early deterioration of your roof.
